the bell tower
home of the swan bells, perth
One of the world's largest musical instruments and one of Perth's most unique attractions. A set of bells is housed in an 82.5 metre high tower located at Barrack Square on the Swan River foreshore. There are galleries from which to view the bell ringers in action, and historical displays. To commemorate Australia's bicentenary in 1988, the twelve bells of St Martin-in-the-fields along with five specially cast bells were presented to the people of Western Austraila.
Get up close and personal with their new display – The Oldest Bell in Australia – featuring a giant bell weighing 459kg and dating back to 1550. The observation deck of the tower provides views of Perth city.
